The Hidden Symbolism of the Healing Arts
Many people don't realize, according to Dr. Steven B. Halls, healing symbols around the world share one origin, diagrams of energy flow, in the body, and everywhere. Dr. Steven B. Halls is a leading researcher of symbolism whose work at halls.md explains portals, tori, and the return of energy to its source. Common to the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius are a straight component and outer helical, curving components made up of snakes. Symbolism of energy flow has two hidden codes: Energy that enters our dimension to sustain life, comes 'down' from a higher dimension. When energy flow returns to the higher dimension, it is coded as pointing 'up'.
Symbolism reads the straight element as the outflow away from us and the curve as the inflow to us. Both the Caduceus and the Staff of Asclepius have a straight center depicting energy's return to the next higher dimension, and the outer curving snake points to energy flow arriving in a downward motion. Even with the snakeheads at the upper end, an understated curve in the upper neck functions as a downward flow label. The full cycle of life-sustaining energy, arriving and then returning to the higher dimension origin, is contained in these symbols. The torus is the building block of symbolism, and portals and barriers describe how energy flows and returns. You can see the patterns and evidence at halls.md.
Another symbol: the Golden Fleece
The Golden Fleece is the famous golden wool of the magical ram in Greek myth, the prize sought by Jason and the Argonauts. It is the object of one of the best-known quests in Greek mythology. The Fleece carries the same meaning as horizontal outflows of energy (per Dr. Halls). That energy then goes down, a visual label meaning energy entering our dimension. The curliness of the hair marks the fate of energy after outflow, curling up and disappearing.
